Training & Matches:
Training takes place every Saturday morning on the north pitch at the Saltdean Oval with players expected to be ready for the warm up which starts at 9-00am prompt. Please arrive in plenty of time for the 9-00 start and ensure that you pay your subscription to Ceri in advance of the session. Matches also take place on the Mini Soccer Pitches at Saltdean Oval near to the Lido and you can get directions by clicking this link.
We also conduct Futebol de Salao training on Thursday evenings. In the summer months these sessions take place outdoors at the Oval. From October 2009 these sessions will take place indoors at the Manor Gym in Kemp Town from 6-7pm.
Futebol de Saleo is a game played with smaller footballs developed in Brazil and Robinho, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho all benefited from this type of training. The weight of the balls is the same as a full sized football, but the ball has reduced bounce so that it stays closer to the player's feet. This means children develop their ball skills when playing with these footballs in a much quicker way than they do with standard footballs and also increases the number of touches a player can have in a sessions. Along with the fact that we use size 2 footballs that are more aligned to height and size the players in our age group you really see the benefit of playing Futebol de Saleo. Training is open only to members of the Club. If you are interested in getting your child involved in the club then contact Chris Hindle at sufcu7@gmail.com to discuss further.
